ZipBackup Command Line Options
ZipBackup can be run with command line options to set certain
features or to automate processing of backups. The following command
line options are available in ZipBackup:
- /Backup - Perform an automatic backup
without prompting the user. Either the Job or Source command
line must be set.
- /Job - Define the job to automatically back
up. There can not be any space between Job and the job
name.
- /Source - The source folder for an
automatic backup. You can backup a group of folders by
including them in a text file where the command line option
is Source followed by the '@' sign and the location of the
text file. There can not be a space between Source and
the source file or folder.
- /Dest - The destination path and file name
for the backup.
- /Explorer - Automatically start ZipBackup
Explorer. Without this option, ZipBackup will start in the
ZipBackup Wizard.
- /OverwriteZip - Automatically overwrites
existing Zip files. The OverwriteZip command only automatically
overwrites zip files when performing an automatic backup.
Examples:
- The following will run the backup job MyBackupJob.zb.
- "C:\Program Files\zipbackup\zipbackup.exe" /backup
"/jobC:\My Documents\MyBackupJob.zb"
- The following will backup the folder C:\My Documents\Word
Documents to the C:\My Backups\Word Backup.zip.
- "C:\Program Files\zipbackup\zipbackup.exe" /backup
"/sourceC:\My Documents\Word Documents" "/destC:\My
Backups\Word Backup.zip"
- The following line will backup the folders listed in the
file C:\My Documents\Backup folders.txt to the file C:\My
Backups\Multiple Folders.zip.
- "C:\Program Files\zipbackup\zipbackup.exe" /backup
